Welcome to the Parents Teachers and Friends Association

As parents of children attending Stroud Valley School you are automatically members of the PTFA - there's no charge. You can do as little or as much as you want to support the events and activities we promote.

The PTFA is a registered charity and we raise money to buy new equipment, fund school trips and help out with those added extras that enrich school life for all our children.

We are a group of parents who give our time freely, organising a range of fundraising events and other activities throughout the year.

Our annual events include the school fete (known as the September Sizzle), Children’s Christmas Fair, Easter Cake Sale and May Plant Sale.

Each year, with your help we raise on average £5000 which is given to the school for funding specific projects or individual classroom equipment or activities. We are very grateful to every individual and business that supports our work.

Last school year we funded projection equipment for the Main Hall at a cost of £3,233. We also contributed £1000 to the school arts project. The PTFA gained funding from Stroud Town Council and the Ernest Cook Charitable Trust for £2,500 in total.

Other donations included materials for clubs, KS1 classroom equipment, books for KS2, donation towards KS2 WW2 project, Christmas presents for children, and contribution towards KS1 wildlife park trip.

Why not come along to our next meeting; the meetings are informal and you will receive a warm welcome, and what's more we need your support.

If you’re on Facebook, why not join our Facebook here!

Who are the PTFA?
As a registered charity, we need to have a committee to oversee the activities that we do and ensure we comply with charity law.
Chair – Rachel Henderson

“As a Mum of twins at SVS, like all parents, I feel that it is my duty to make sure that they have the best education possible. By getting involved with the school, I feel that I can have an influence on that. We are all lucky that the school is so great but I think that by helping out we can make it even better, not only for our own children but for all pupils."

“Why do we do it? It can be fun, hard work and rewarding. I enjoy organising our events, seeing successful projects happen, and watching the children enjoy those extra activities and equipment that we all contribute to.”
