The Aventurine Class – a class of positivity, a creative outlook and opportunity.

Together we have developed our class ethos.  We thought about the work we have carried out regarding the rights and responsibilites of all.

We all have a right to be able to learn and feel safe, therefore, it is our responsibility to allow others to learn and feel safe, too.

Through mutual respect, consideration and co-operation these rights and responsibilities are met. We always try our best and know that we learn through our mistakes - they are just stepping stones to success.

We are all reading our way through ‘The Aventurine Quest’, a reading challenge, to find treasure at the end!

To start our 'Water' studies, we visited Slimbridge Wetlands and Wildfowl Trust - have a look at some of our photographs.

It made us think about the importance of water in our environment.

On Tuesday 19th March we held a Water Awareness Afternoon. We really enjoyed organising it -have a look at some of the pictures below.

Lots of people 'Cycled for Water'.  It was a challenge         We greeted out visitors at the door and told them

that required concentration and hard work.  Thanks to       a little about the afternoon.  The water fact treasure

all who took part!                                                                 hunt was a great success.

Miss Sleep wanted a little more time to learn  the facts        The fact sheets, word searches, quests and poems

on the bicycle. Unfortunately, it was not allowed!                  were really interesting.

Our visitors thought the animations, water experiments     Entertainment was provided as the audience awaited

quizzes and microscopes were fascinating. We made        the play which had been especially written.

sure we were there to answer questions

The play about the importance of a clean water supply was repeated three times to an appreciative audience.

In the Autumn terms we learned all about the Victorians. We visited 'The Museum in the Park'.  Have a look at some of our pictures below.

Dressed in our finest aprons; we weren't allowed to          This yoke is reallly rather heavy!

Wow! The Victorians had 3D!!                                         Washing, washing, washing!
