Quartz Class welcomes and values each member of the class and aims to assist all to the best of their abilities. We have fun and develop our potential in all areas.

Everyone in the class plays their part in making it a great environment in which to work. To make sure that every day runs smoothly, we have a range of classroom jobs which we do for a week at a time and also we can earn rewards for good behaviour, politeness and helpfulness.

Over the last two terms we have been learning all about 'water' and its importance in the world. In ART and D.T. We focused on the use of cam mechanisms to create a waterwheel and the artist Monet.

Below you can see the wonderful creations the children have created. We experimented with a range of materials to create a working waterwheel. The children had to test their waterwheel to check their cam mechanism worked and if it didn't it was back to the drawing board.

Next we looked at the artist Monet and re-created his famous painting 'The Japanese Footbridge', using a range of different tools including our fingertips and masking tape. I think you will agree with me that they look fantastic!
