In Amethyst class we enjoy having special jobs like collecting fruit and milk, and take it in turns to be the class leader. Through good manners, sensible behaviour and hard work, raffle tickets can be collected with a prize draw each week.

In our English sessions we listen to stories which we learn to act out through role play and dressing up. This helps us with our language skills. We can write our own stories and plays, which we enjoy performing.
We learn through topics, which involve a range of exciting activities such as going out for walks or visiting local museums, parks and creating trails.

We enjoy making things in art and craft with our teacher.

On our Autumn walk we created pictures. Do you like the way we used autumn leaves ?

The weather was great on the day we went to Rodborough Pavillions. The walk up the fields was easy, except the cows were determined to get in the way.

We picked blackberries and pricked our fingers ! We followed trails and looked for signs of autumn.

What a treat.

Can you believe the sun in October ! We had such fun. When we got back to school we made apple and blackberry crumble. Yummy. Look this is all we left !

We went to stroud library to see Julia Donaldson.

Here is Julia Donaldson telling us Squash and a Squeeze.
.
Julia Donaldson sang us a story and children came up to act out parts.

Here we are acting out Monkey Puzzle with Julia Donaldson and her sister.

On Tuesday we went to the museum and played old games. The toys were old so we had to wear special gloves.
Some toys we had never seen before. We made spinners.
There was a Rodney Peppe exhibition which we saw. Finally Jon the story teller told is a tale of the Snaggles under the clock tower.
Great excitment as we get ready for the nativity. Shepherd's Delight was such fun. We loved singing Wooly Sheep !
We were watching the entertainer. He swang a cup of water....watch out. Look at us passing the spinning plate.
Who would like a cheese sandwich ? Sharing all our food. Singing along to Swinging Shepherds.

Today we were hot seating in class. George Stephenson came to visit. We asked him questions.

We went to visit Stroud station. The train came in. We listened. The train driver waved to us and tooted his horn.
We have been finding out about different types of transport. We took lots of photographs with Mrs. Bennetts help. Look what we saw.
We are using a saw to cut dowel for an axel. Here is a simple axel with wheels that move. We used  construction kits to make a car with a moving axel.
Yummy pancakes with lemon. Who remembers the instructions to make batter?
Finally arrived at the Water Meadow. Time for a well earned snack. Thanks to the helpers we all got here safely. Time to cross the stream.
Up the steep hill. Right to the very top. Look up ! Look down.
Hot, muddy, sweaty wellies! Imagine what we look like.
